Belarusian National Technical University

Belarusian National Technical University is one of the oldest and biggest educational institutions in our republic. It was founded in 1920. It’s famous for its high quality academic programs and a stimulating learning environment.

BNTU includes 15 departments and trains specialists for different fields of science and technology. Many young people from our country and abroad enter BNTU to become mechanical engineers, architects, programmers, economists, building engineers, electrical engineers and etc. There are around 21 000 students who make a mix of undergraduate and postgraduate students studying mainly full – time. Many of them are also professionals who attend courses in the evening after work.

There are full – time, part – time and correspondence departments at the university. Full –time course lasts five years as a rule. Part – time and correspondence courses are longer. The curricula however do not differ greatly in the subject taught. The difference is in the system in which the studies are organized.

Факультет информационных технологий и робототехники 

Факультет создан в 1983 г. как факультет роботов и робототехнических систем на базе трех старейших кафедр Белорусского политехнического института: высшей математики, технической физики, электропривода и автоматизации промышленных установок и технологических комплексов и молодой кафедры– автоматизации и комплексной механизации.

Факультет начинался с двух специальностей: "Автоматизация технологических процессов и производств" и «Автоматизированный электропривод», имеющих специализации по робототехнике. И сегодня факультет остается единственным в республике центром подготовки специалистов в области робототехники.

В то же время, в соответствии с требованиями сегодняшнего дня, расширяется подготовка специалистов в области информационных технологий и робототехники. Новое название наиболее полно отражает сложившуюся структуру специальностей направленность развития факультета.
